Advanced Technology: At Woodbury Dental, LLC each operatory contains a computer to support our digital radiography system and to facilitate our computerized patient charting and treatment planning. Our use of advanced dental technologies benefits patients through educating them regarding their dental health and options. It is a vital and visual assistant in determining and discussing the best course of treatment for a patient. It provides another important factor in building our partnership in our patients' dental care. We strive to stay up to date on dental technological services. |
CEREC® Technology: CEREC® technology allows the dentist to place plaque resistant, ceramic, tooth colored restorations in a single-visit. CEREC® is a high-tech device used to design and manufacture ceramic tooth restorations at our dental practice while you wait. The CEREC® equipment comprises a digital infrared camera for obtaining an optical impression of the damaged tooth, 3D Computer Aided Design (CAD) software to help the dentist design the ideal restoration for the clinical situation, and Computer Aided Manufacturing (CAM) technology that uses two high-speed diamond burs to mill a precise restoration according to the CAD software specifications. The milling process is complete in less than 20 minutes, and the entire restorative procedure is completed in a single appointment providing long-lasting, natural results. A tooth-colored restoration means no more silver fillings discoloring smiles. The filling is natural-looking, compatible with tissue in the mouth, anti-abrasive and plaque-resistant. Dentists no longer need to create temporaries or take impressions and send them to a lab. Because of this, the traditional second visit has been eliminated. The restorations have been proven precise, safe and effective.More than eight million restorations have been performed worldwide using CEREC® technology. Woodbury Dental, LLC has successfully used CEREC® to provide attractive, convenient tooth restorations since 2002. Call us today to see if these restorations could be an option for you.

Computed Dental Radiography (CDR): Woodbury Dental, LLC utilizes a computerized dental imaging system created by Schick Technologies, Inc. Instead of film, CDR uses an electronic sensor to produce a sharp and clear x-ray image of your teeth that appears instantaneously on our computer screen. CDR images require up to 90% less radiation than conventional film x-rays. Schick designed the CDR sensors with rounded edges to make them more comfortable for patients. The sensors generate high quality digital radiographs without the hazards of costly developing chemicals. In addition, CDR provides features such as zoom, contrast and colorize which make diagnosis more precise and assists the dentist in educating patients regarding their treatment plans. |
